Facebook Fan Page or Blogging?

Facebook fan page or blogging

Are you wondering if you should start with a Facebook Fan Page or Blogging?

Great question!

I was wondering that too when I got started and I didn’t want to be doing everything and anything without a clear purpose.

Are you able to work really hard but only when you know exactly what you’re doing? I’m like that too.

Ok, so let’s clear this up!

Advantages of a Facebook Fan Page:

– It’s free!

– It’s easy to set up!

– You don’t need to create your own content. You can promote other’s content. I personally use PostPlanner which I love because it automates posting and makes it easy to find top content for my niche!

– You can start promoting your page using paid advertising and getting fans and views on your posts almost instantly

For all these reasons, I truly believe that if you’ve never done any marketing before, if you don’t have anything in place, and you’re really looking to get started seriously into making money online, then the first thing you should do marketing wise, is create a Facebook Fan Page!

The purpose of a blog is to grow brand awareness. So first, you need to create your brand (around yourself). It’s called branding yourself! (duh!)

If you have no idea just yet what a niche is and what a customer avatar is, you know what? Don’t create your blog just yet.

Creating a blog is extremely time-consuming and it can cost quite a lot of money if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you’d like to know how I’ve pulled out this blog in less than a day, leave a comment below and I’ll do a step by step guide for you.

More important than having a blog is having a great lead magnet and building your list.

And you know what? To do that, you don’t need a blog, and blogging is, in my opinion, not the most effective way to grow your list.

So if you haven’t done so already, signup for free access to the 5 Step Formula to grow a 6/7-figure online business.

And get your fan page setup (it should not take more than 30 minutes) and get PostPlanner. You’ll thank me for it later 😉

You know, again, I’m always looking not to spend too much money. But for a tool like PostPlanner that only costs 9$/month (monthly plan), I would be willing to pay much more.

It allows me to find awesome content really quickly and plan all my posts for the week in less than 2 hours. My fans are happy and I’m happy!

I’m also telling you about PostPlanner in my Facebook Cheat Sheet that teaches you exactly what you need to do on Facebook EVERYDAY to build your brand, create a legion of loyal followers AND create a longterm, sustainable, profitable business…

Did you know that if you don’t post at least 5-7 times a day, Facebook penalizes you and your fans see your post less?

You’ll see, there is quite a lot of tasks to get done if you don’t use a tool like PostPlanner. Just know that I’m using it, I’m loving it, and I wouldn’t recommend it to you if I didn’t feel like it’s a must to grow your Facebook fan page!

Then WHY in the world do I have a blog???

I’m using my blog for 2 purposes. As you’re going to learn, it’s very specific. If you’ve never had a blog, you don’t even have a list yet, and you’ve never created a landing page, again… don’t start with a blog. A blog could become a real burden for you and take you off track from your success.

Blogging to Promote my Blog Posts on Facebook

I’ve talked about this in a previous blog post. Promoting your blog posts in Facebook paid ads will keep you from getting your Facebook ad account shut down. Facebook is hating more and more landing pages because it wants to improve user experience. It’s still possible to get through the Facebook approval process depending on your landing page, but if you’re just starting out with Facebook ads, it’s easier to stay in the safe zone with a blog post.

Blogging to Promote my Offers to My List

Promoting the same offer again and again to your list is going to burn your list out. If you promote offers daily, and even if these offers are different, people are going to unsubscribe because you’re not giving them value and they don’t know you, like you and trust you, to buy from you. Blogging is a great way to communicate with your list and create that relationship. You can promote your offers safely without burning out your list, and your readers are getting value out of your content. It’s a win-win.

I’ve touched on the topic of how to write your blog post to promote your offers while still offer awesome value to your readers. You can dig deeper on this topic here.

That’s it. Did you notice I don’t use my blog posts to rank on Google and hope to get a few leads from SEO? It works but it’s very very very time consuming and it will take forever for you to get any results. It’s called long-tail keyword indexing and you need to have written hundreds of blog posts to hope to get some decent traffic. On top of that, you’ll have to keep publishing relevant content on a regular basis if you want to keep your ranking in Google, not even talking about the Google regular algorythm change… that could make you lose your ranking over night!

If you want to create a blog to use it as mentioned above, but you’re afraid of technology and you don’t know what you’re doing, I recommend you take me on my free gift to create your blog for you.
